Pelvic vein problems can cause pelvic congestion syndrome, or genital varicosities in women and testicular varicosities and infertility in men. The problem is typically caused by leaky pelvic veins. Treatment for this condition can be offered in our office setting but inserting a small catheter into the abnormal vein under local anesthesia. Then the vein is closed using a combination of sclerosant injection and insertion of small coils into the vein. Patients can typically return immediately to normal activities.
